[No one does. Ken's still asleep when she wakes up. He's leaned sideways over her and his hand is still on her head.]

[Nadia blinks up at him in confusion, but she sits up carefully, sliding off the couch and wrapping the blanket around him...]

[He's a light sleeper! He blinks awake at her moving and stares at her stupidly when she wraps the blanket around him.] Nadia...?

[lowres]

Good morning. I am not going anywhere. You seem very tired.

[orangehoodie]

Haven't been sleeping well lately... [He's like half awake. He sits up slowly and reaches to take her hand.] How are you feeling?

[lowres]

Much better. [She's not going to be a hundred percent for a while yet.] Would you like to go to bed? Miss Susan is still here. You won't have to worry about me.

[orangehoodie]

[He shakes his head.] I'm fine. If you're awake I'll stay awake... [He tugs on her hand. Come closer.]

[lowres]

[She will come closer, curiously.] Please don't make yourself sick for me.

[orangehoodie]

[Good. He's still very half asleep. But he still at least has the tact to turn his head slightly so that when his lips touch her face in an unmistakeable kiss, he's kissing the side of her mouth than her actual lips. Then he's pulling her to hold her close again.]

I want to stay with you right now.

[Nadia is completely confused because Ken almost never acts like this. She blinks uselessly, then wraps her arms around his shoulders, sitting beside him again.]

Then I will stay right here.

[He's just dazed. Even when he actually realizes what he did and he grows honestly terrified, he just holds her close and sits with her in silence.]

[She clearly terrified him. That would explain the clinging. She's really never been hurt before.]

I'm sorry I scared you.

[orangehoodie]

[He shakes his head.] Don't do it again.

[lowres]

I will be more careful. I promise.

[orangehoodie]

I'll protect you.

[lowres]

I will try not to do things that need protecting.

[orangehoodie]

[He's okay with that. He likes that idea a lot more than any alternative. He nods and will hold her and be terrified of when she may or may not address what he did.]

[lowres]

[She won't address it, not for a while. Instead, she holds onto him and she'll tell him happy things like all the good things that happened while he was gone, and all the things she's thinking about doing in high school and all the good things she wants to do with him to finish the summer.]

[orangehoodie]

[He listens, nodding along, and he'll tell her about New York, too. He'll say what he thinks about her plans and talk about things he was considering for school. and he would be up for all of those things she suggests.]

Did you like it there? In New York?

[She's actually never been. Her dad says she's too young.]

[orangehoodie]

It's a lot louder than here and also a lot more people, so I think if I had more time I'd get used to it more. but I liked it. I'll take you sometime.

[lowres]

I would like to go with you someday. [She nuzzles against his shoulder.]

[orangehoodie]

[Despite the situation earlier and how terrified he still is, his cheeks turn pink at the nuzzling.]

... Can I stay here tonight? [She'll say she's at another friend's house.]

[orangehoodie]

[He nods.] Yeah. You can use my bed.
