[She nods numbly.] T-thank you. [She's assuming he's just holding on. Ken's not the sappy type.]

[She pulls away enough to look at him. She'd wipe her eyes but both her hands are bloody.]

What is it?

[orangehoodie]

[His are cleaner. But he doesn't even care about the tears. He takes her face gently in his hands and leans in to lean his forehead against hers.]

I'm glad you're alive. I need you.

[lowres]

[She nuzzles against him without thinking. She clearly shares the sentiment.]

I would not die on you.

[orangehoodie]

Please don't go. [He thumbs at her cheek. His touches are soft but very not hesitant. She's comfortable to be with and he can't bear to lose her.]

[lowres]

[She leans into his hand.] I won't go anywhere.

[orangehoodie]

[He's acting very much on emotions right now. He's been aware of his feelings for a long time, but he never planned to tell her. He liked their closeness without all of that. But he's not even embarrassed as he raises his head to kiss her forehead. He's so relieved she's still here.]

[If Nadia had blood in her body, she would blush. As it is she blinks dumbly. She doesn't know how to react to that. This is Ken right? Best friend? Not doppelganger.]

[He doesn't seem all that aware of what he's doing for another second or two.

Before he does and his eyes widen almost in terror and he lets go of her face so fast and scrambles for his phone, although he doesn't let her go.]

I-- I'm! I'm gonna call Susan.

[She'd normally worry a lot more that she did something terribly wrong. As it is, she just... nods, quietly.]

... She can take me home... My parents are gone.

[He shakes his head.]

I'm not gonna let you be alone.

[Even if he fucked up. Even if he thinks he did something terrible to her with that and he should stay away. He's not going to leave her alone.]

I'll get your apartment dirty, too... [And Ken's apartment is so clean and stuff...]

You won't. You won't be the first person who's come home bloody, anyway.

[She looks at her hands. And then up at him a little desperately. She's... really covered.]

[He looks at her sadly but he tries to smile.] I was worse. Chest wounds bleed a lot more. My house has flooring, anyway.

[She doesn't like the idea of him bleeding and --wait what.]

[He's wrapping his shirt around her shoulders. He's shorter, but his shoulders are still slightly wider so he can get it around her.]

Not me. Someone else, I just got covered in his blood. [He puts an arm around her again.] I'm gonna call Susan, okay?

[She nods. If he lets her, she'll lean against him.]

[He does, of course. He will hold her close while he calls Susan and asks her to come pick them up, it's an emergency, put some ponchos or something on the seats please? they're on Pine and fourth. They're fine, they just need a ride home, he promises.

And then he will sit and wait with her.]

[Nadia's exhausted. She's quiet when he calls. And then she starts mumbling stupid worries.]

... I don't have any clothes to change into. And my hair is going to stain...

[orangehoodie]

Susan would help wash your hair. You can wear my clothes, too, I know I'll find something that fits.

[lowres]

Is it silly to think about that...? [She just rests her head on his chest.]

[orangehoodie]

[He shakes his head.] I complained about my jacket to my dad when I went home that day. I asked Matt about school after the snake attacked. Even if it's silly you're not alone.

[lowres]

[She sniffs a little bit.] Thank you... for coming...
